About
At Island Bass Pursuit, we’re dedicated to growing the fishing community and carrying forward the tradition of bass fishing on Long Island.
Our roots trace back to the Long Island Bassmasters, a historic club recognized as the first B.A.S.S. chapter north of the Mason-Dixon Line and the 22nd chapter nationwide. That legacy laid the foundation for organized bass fishing in our region and gave local anglers a place to connect, compete, and grow the sport.
Building on that history, we’ve expanded the tournament scene by introducing the Slay Nation CPR-style small vessel series, opening the door for anglers fishing from boats without livewells, kayaks, and other electric-only rigs. By blending tradition with innovation, we’ve created more options for anglers of all backgrounds to get involved.
Today, Island Bass Pursuit continues that mission — offering both small-vessel CPR competition and live weigh-in series for big-boat anglers, while also investing in the future through Junior Angler programs and inclusive online events.
From our roots in Long Island Bassmasters to the modern trails we run today, Island Bass Pursuit is here to keep bass fishing thriving for generations to come.
